The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality will hold two public hearings in June to gather feedback on Enbridge’s 401 water quality permit application on its proposed T-15 Pipeline project.

Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m.
Piedmont Community College Auditorium
1715 College Dr., Roxboro, N.C.

Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m.
Rockingham Community College,
Advanced Technologies Building Auditorium,
560 County Home Rd., Wentworth, N.C.

The T-15 Pipeline would begin in Rockingham County, cross through Caswell County and end in Person County. It would deliver methane gas to two gas-fired power plants in northern Person County proposed by Duke Energy.

The proposed route for the T-15 Pipeline would cross over 100 waterways, including wetlands and two water bodies that provide drinking water for areas of Roxboro — Double Creek and South Hyco Creek. In Rockingham County, the pipeline will cross Hogans Creek and Wolf Island Creek and draw water from the Dan River for hydrostatic testing. Pipeline construction can cause uncontrolled erosion and sedimentation pollution in nearby waterways and potentially contaminate groundwater, threatening private wells along the route.
